Attention Brighton Film Fans

Sponsored post in association with American Express®

I think we can officially say that it’s autumn now, can’t we? I’ve brought out my jumpers, blankets and turned on my heating in my new flat for the first time – yup, it’s autumn. Like everyone else on the internet it seems, autumn holds a special place in my heart. The cooler temperatures, crunchy leaves on the ground and cosy evenings in bring me so much joy – plus cinema season starts up again in earnest.

I often find that in the summer I never make it to the cinema enough, but once the evenings start closing in and the Oscar-fodder begins to be released, it’s hard to keep me away. There’s something so nice about settling in for a little escapism with a good film and some popcorn, when it’s cold and rainy outside.

If you live in Brighton and you’re looking to bring in the cosy cinema season but fancy something a little bit special, then I have some excellent news – American Express and the BFI are bringing the 61st BFI London Film Festival to Brighton next month!

Being a Cardmember with American Express comes with a whole bunch of perks, including getting first dibs on BFI London Film Festival tickets, and for one night only you could too, here in Brighton.

On Wednesday 4th October, the Brighton Cineworld will play host to the glitz and glamour of the Opening Night gala of the Festival, with a screening of the European premiere of the film BREATHE along with a stream of the live red carpet fun before the film itself.
Starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, Andy Serkis’ directorial debut BREATHE is an inspirational true story of love without limits. After Robin (Garfield) is struck down with polio and paralysed, his wife goes against doctor’s advice to bring him home and through love and dedication supports him to transcend his disability. If you’re like me and you love trailers, you can watch it here. The film will be released across the UK and Ireland on 27th October.

If you’re not in Brighton, don’t worry! There are screenings across the country – see if one is coming to you and register for tickets here.
