My 6 Summer Beauty Staples

I've had this post in 'drafts' for so long now - it just didn't seem right to publish a summer staples post when the weather was shocking outside. However, summer has finally reached the UK (thank god) so now it seems right to reveal the products that are always by my side when the sun is out. I had my holiday in Bali to test them out, while I was there I needed some good quality, fuss-free products that I could rely on - and these were the ones that came out top.

Clinique Moisture Surge Thirst Relief

Although it might seem odd to recommend a moisturiser in the summer, this pot of wonder from Clinique is perfect for combatting dehydrated skin (rather than dry skin) which I really struggle with in the hotter months. Just like you have to drink more water when it's sunny and warm, your skin needs hydrating too and this soothing gel-like moisturiser is the perfect thirst-quencher. It's quite pricey at £34 a pot, but you don't tend to use much at a time and my pot is still going strong after a few months.

Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment

When the sun is out I also find my hair gets rather parched, especially if I'm on holiday so in the pool or by the sea. I try and make sure to use an intensive treatment on my hair to reverse the drying effects and encourage my hair to be not just softer but healthier too. At the moment my favourite is this treatment from Aveda, it's part of their Damage Remedy range which is perfect for coloured hair like mine. I also find it helps keep my hair smoother, even when it's humid out. This treatment came as part of a really handy holiday pack that you can only pick up from the World Duty Free stores.

Estee Lauder Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette

I'm a sucker for anything neutral, so this gorgeous palette is right up my street. The range of colours is great for the warmer months, in the summer I don't really tend to wear a lot of eye make-up so the subtle browns with a slight shimmer are perfect. I took this away with me to Bali and I was so happy with how it withstood the humidity in the evening - which is pretty darn impressive. If you're heading on holiday look out for it at the airport, as it's exclusive to World Duty Free.

Clinique Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick

This has to be my favourite beauty purchase this summer, I never thought I'd be so impressed with a stick foundation. It's super light, great build-able coverage that is amazing easy to blend. I thought, with it being a stick foundation, it would feel really heavy and drag on my skin but it's the complete opposite. I keep it in my bag for touch-ups throughout the day and I couldn't be without it now.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne

I've now got into the habit of picking up a new Jo Malone perfume every time I'm at the airport, and just before I jetted off to Bali this was my new choice. I love the woody but fresh smell of this, and like most Jo Malone perfumes it lasts really well throughout the day.
