Breakfast At Marmalade, Brighton

Today two people who were not really ready for Sunday to begin, dragged themselves out of bed to get some fresh air and some well-needed caffeine. We took a stroll to somewhere we've been meaning to try for quite some time - Marmalade in Kemptown. I've always heard some much about it (and its fabulous decor) so it was high-time we tried it out ourselves. Coming into Marmalade from the cold and the drizzle was lovely. It has such a warm and relaxed atmosphere and the piles of pastries and cakes as you walk in are a welcome sight.
Places like Marmalade make things look so easy - there are no frills, just great food prepared with love and care. The breakfast menu covers all bases, from croissants to bacon sarnies to eggs prepared all-sorts of ways, and as for most places in Brighton the prices are really reasonable. There's a great buzz to the place without it feeling really noisy and chaotic. I can imagine it would be perfect to find a cosy corner and relax with a book (/laptop).
I felt like I was super 70s in my attire today. I took my latest sale purchase, a stripy polo from Warehouse, out for a test run and I thought it looked cute with the denim button up skirt. I'm trying to keep my clothes buying at an absolute minimum (what with buying a house and all) so I'm trying to buy very carefully in the sales. I'd recommend popping into Warehouse's though - lots of great mark-downs and bargains.

Anyway, back to the food! The service was speedy and my scrambled eggs were some of the best I've had with delicious bread making it all the better. I had to stop myself from having croissant as well (almond ones are my absolute faves) but it being January and me being a stone heavier than I should be I thought better of it. For next time though....
