Hair: Festival Essentials

Even though we are in the latter half of summer there are still a bunch of festivals happening in the next few weeks; Reading and Leeds, Festival No 6 and Bestival to name just a few. Although I will not be partaking in any festivals this year, I have been known in the past to don my wellies and sleep in a field for a few nights all in the name of live music.

So I thought I would go through my festival essentials, a little sneak peek into what I would be packing in my rucksack! First off is hair stuff, check back soon for the second part on beauty essentials.

Dry Shampoo This is the product that is, without a doubt, going to be in every girl's (and maybe guy's) bag. I love Batiste and haven't found anything that compares to it in price and performance. I think it helps that I have blonde hair as it does tend to come out a little white, but it just freshens up my hair like nothing else!

Tangle Teezer With all that dancing around and lack of showers your hair, if it is anything like mine, is going to get pretty knotty. I find now that the only thing that can handle my hair on knotty days is the famous Tangle Teezer so this would be in my bag without fail.

Hair Ties and Grips No one wants to go to a festival and spend hours concocting an intricate braided hairstyle with flowers interwoven within in, this is real life not pintrest! However, the odd plait here or there can look kind of cute and can also keep your hair out of your face - for this you will need hair ties and grips. I'd take double the amount you need as those buggers disappear so easily!

Hair Chalk If you can't really have pink hair at work or school then festivals are the perfect time to let loose hair colour-wise. I'd recommend a hair chalk as you just use it on your hair like you're colouring it in and then you instantly have bright pink hair! Then once you're back home you can give your hair a good shampoo and it will all come out - no one will ever know your about your wild 3 days as a pink haired babe!

Styling Spray Depending on what your hair is like you'll probably choose a difference type of styling spray. I, naturally, have wavy hair that can be transformed into a beachy style with Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray - when I say 'beachy style' I kinda just mean....a bit messy but hey, at at festival that can just be boho chic! If you have flatter hair then maybe a texturising spray, like the Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce one, might be good. Or if you want to be doing a lot of up dos - like a simple beehive then hair spray is going to be your best friend.

Let me know what your festival essentials for your barnet would be...

  1. The Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray has quickly become a must-have in my collection. It smells incredible and does such a good job at giving my hair texture. xx

  2. Dry shampoo is a must! I usually have my hair straight for day one. Then texture it up a bit for day two with a spray and dry shampoo. Day three is some form of plait and then travelling home is of course a topknot!
