Beauty: Hand Creams

So hand creams aren't the coolest beauty item around - I used to always think they were a little mumsy and I never really have a need for them. However in the last few years I have been working my way through so many different hand creams and at least one is also a staple in my bag. I use hand creams throughout the day, especially when I'm at work and I have to use their really drying hand soap and it being winter doesn't help the situation either. So I thought I'd do a round up of my current favourites, all sizes and all prices.

Lacrua Hand Care Pro-Vital: So I'm going to firstly point out that this large sized hand cream is only 75p from Aldi! It is an absolute bargain and it is pretty darn good to boot! It has a very neutral and typically hand cream-y scent which is perfectly pleasant. I find I need to reapply after a few hours but that is reasonable. The only slightly negative thing I would say is that it is quite big and if you only have a small handbag then that might be an issue. The packaging is also kinda dull but that obviously doesn't effect the product.

Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment: To go to the opposite end of the price spectrum, this Clarins hand cream comes in at £20.00. Not a ridiculous price, but still something I wouldn't normally pay for a hand cream (I got this as a present). Ok, the product is lovely - gorgeously silky without be greasy and my hands feel lovely and nourished afterwards. And let's not the forgot the smell, that classic and simple fragrance Clarins has made their trademark - delicious and uplifting (who knew a hand cream could be uplifting). However I ultimately think that it is a tad too expensive - as this post will go in to, there are plenty of cheaper and great hand creams - but I think it makes a lovely present.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream: This one is the most concentrated of the group, it is really thick and luxurious. L'Occitane are pretty famous for their hand creams, they come in all sorts of flavours (smells?) and are £8 for the smaller handbag friendly size, but I love the simplicity of this Shea Butter scent. I like to use this when my hands needs a proper moisture boost - oh and I love the foil packaging.

Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Cream: Again, I love this foil packaging. I would say that this is my favourite scent of all of my hand creams - it is a warming almond smell that is perfect for the winter. It is less thick than the L'Occitane hand cream, a more every day, have in your handbag kinda hand cream. And for a fiver you can't really go wrong. Also - keep an eye out for Body Shop discount codes, I haven't paid full price there for a long time!
