Haircare: Macadamia Natural Oil

Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo 300ml £12.75*
Macadamia Deep Repair Masque 250ml £21.50*
Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment 30ml £10.75*

Oils seem to be everywhere in beauty at the moment, hair oils and facial oils in particular. At first the thought of oil seemed to go completely against what I wanted from a beauty product - I wanted to get rid of the oil on my face and my hair not add more! However I succumbed to the pressure and tested some out...and now I love beauty oils. I have a vitamin E facial oil from Boots which I really like and I also have the famed Moroccan Oil.

So I was very excited when I got the chance to review some of the Macadamia Natural Oil range. I had never tried an oil based shampoo or conditioner and I was interested in trying a new hair oil.

First off, I love the packaging. Who would have thought green and brown would look so pretty together! More importantly though I really like the products themselves. Unlike other 'non chemically' ranges, the lather of the Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo is great - just like a regular shampoo - and it leaves the hair feeling nice and clean. The fragrance is quite subtle but pleasant. The Macadamia Deep Repair Masque is lovely and thick, so it really feels nourishing when you apply it on damp hair. I like to leave it on for around 10 minutes to it has time to do its thing. The results are great, my hair feels really silky and soft.

What makes it a step better though is using the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - like other hair oils this is a product that makes such a noticeable difference. When used on damp hair it makes my hair so much less frizzy when I rough dry it with a hair dryer. Plus it seems to make my hair dry faster (if that is possible!) which is great as my hair is quite thick. I really like using a little oil on dry hair as well to make it smoother and more sleeky. The only thing I would say though is that you have to be careful not to use too much - otherwise your hair will just look greasy. An issue with the bottle is that it does not have a pump so you have to be quite careful when pouring out a small amount.

So yes, if you were looking for some natural based haircare I would definitely recommend looking into these products. The prices I have above are for slightly different sized bottles to the ones I used - I couldn't find my sizes online.

  1. I use macademia spray oil every day, dry or wet on my long hair and I love it! It gets dry due the length and the ombres ends but this makes it sleek, easy to brush and so much easier to manage :) I won't use anything else! X

  8. Macadamia Natural Oil is my holy grail product. I use it almost every day especially when blowdrying my hair. I think Hairtrade is the cheapest place at the moment – here’s the link if anyone wants to have a look. I even use it on my I&K extensions too! x
