Skincare: Clarisonic Mia Dupe

Body Shop Facial Brush £3.00

Ok ok, you have to suspend reality just a little bit but this is my Clarisonic Mia dupe! Clarisonic Mia being those glorified large electric tooth brushes for your face that lots and lots of blogs have been talking about over the last few months. Although I'd love the try the real deal the price tag of over £100 means that that is just not realistic at the moment. So whilst on the Body Shop's online store I saw this facial brush and thought that maybe it could be a replacement of sorts!

At £3.00 it is a hell of a lot cheaper than an actual Clarisonic Mia and with a little bit of effort you can replicate the buffing motion yourself. I use it with my new Body Shop cleanser (post to come) but ideally I want to use it with a foaming cleanser.

It does feel a little rough on your skin at first but I think that is more because it is a bit of a shock rather than it being too hard. Once you get used to it it is fine. After using the facial brush I really feel like my skin has been properly cleaned and all my make-up has been removed.

So obviously, like I said, it is quite far removed from the real Clarisonic Mia but I think for people on smaller budgets it gives a similar effect!

What do you think?

P.S - I used the code MAY40 on the Body Shop online, it is a code for 40% everything on their website!

  6. Great post! I think the Clarisonic is a bit of a rip off really for what it is.
I've read a lot of people complaining that it gives them really bad acne break outs after a while, which is probably due to the fact that all the dead skin cells it scrubs off the skin sit inside the bristles, so every time you use it, its basically buffing all that bacteria and skin cells back into the skin.
This Bodyshop brush is a pretty good dupe, seeing as its exactly the same thing except it doesn't have an electronic rotation device attached x
