Make-up: Summer Face | LV In Love With

Make-up: Summer Face

Now I'm probably going to jinx the great British weather, but I'd say that summer is here. Couldn't be happier, I'm just hoping it holds out for my grad ball in just under two weeks! But summertime does throw up one problem, what make-up to wear. I normally like my coverage to be medium-full with lots of eyeliner and mascara and lipstick. However I just can't be doing with that when it gets hot. So above is what I guess you'd call my summer face. Here is a little break down of what it entails:

Base - Unfortunately I am not one of those people who can get away with not wearing any base. However, wearing foundation feels too heavy when it is sunny and warm so I've learnt to tone it down a little. Next week I'm going to get a tinted moisturiser (I have my eyes on the Laura Mercier one) but for now I just mix my MAC Studio Fix (NC15) with a little bit of moisturiser to make my own. It is not ideal obviously but it helps make the coverage a little lighter. My foundation also contains sun protection of SPF 15 which is convenient.

Concealer - Now this is wear I start to throw caution to the wind somewhat. I hate my under-eye circles and normally put really thick concealer on to cover them up but in the summer it just looks too much. So sometimes I think you just have to say 'eff it' there are worst things life than dark bags. Therefore I just pop a couple of dabs of MAC Select Cover-Up (NW20) around my eye area and use the YSL Touche Elcat Radiant Touch (1.5) to brighten it up a little.

Bronzer and Blush - I do a really quick and simple bronzer and blush routine. I use my MAC 150 Large Powder Brush to sweep some Rimmel Natural Bronzer Power (025 Sun Glow) where the sun hits (cheeks to temples, chin and little on the nose). Then with my No7 Blush Brush I pop some Aldi Lacura Blush (Sunset) on the apples of my cheeks - yup Aldi, it's a total dupe for NARS Orgasm (post to come).

Eyes and Brows - Pretty simple here, run some shadow through my brows (as in this post) and put on a couple of coats of Max Factor False Lash Mascara on my lashes.

Lips - For something a little lighter in pigmentation and coverage I used the Revlon Lip Butter (Creme Brulee) so my lips weren't bare.

And there we have it, my day-to-day summer make-up. Hope everyone is enjoying the sun!
